| Al-Ihsan Academy has facilities for teaching average and above average children who do not have any special learning, speech, physical or behavior problems.
Al-Ihsan Academy does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, creed, color, national origin or religion for purposes of determining eligibility for admission.
The principal is responsible for grade placement of students, after consulting with appropriate staff personnel for their recommendations. Final placement for transfer students will be based upon the student's previous school records and transcript, in addition to results of a placement test. Students showing special learning, behavior or study habit problems will not be able to continue at Al-Ihsan.
Completion of the admission procedure will require the following:
- Completed application forms.
- Immunization and Medical Records.
- Signed parental contract.
- Signed attendance consent forms.
- Transcripts and/or report cards for transfer students.
- An interview may be required.
A child entering the Pre-Kindergarten program of Al-Ihsan Academy must be four years old on or before September 30 and must indicate a need for preschool as determined by a screening assessment.
A child entering the Kindergarten program of Al-Ihsan Academy must be five years old on or before December 31 and must have a health assessment one year prior to the first day of school.
If a position is available, an applicant will be enrolled only after the following:
- The placement exam has been completed.
- The first tuition payment and book fees have been received.
- Medical records and school transcript have been received.
If no position is available, an applicant will be placed on the waiting list and contacted when there is an opening.
Any student transferring to Al-Ihsan Academy from a school outside New York City is required by the NYC Board of Health to have a complete physical examination within ninety days of admission.
Students in pre-kindergarten through first grade are required by the NYC Board of Health to have a yearly physical examination within ninety days of admission or readmission.
